WYOU Youth TV
Supporting youth programing is a very important aspect of our mission. Over the last several years, the station has seen a growth in the number of students that are taking advantage of the television opportunities offered here at WYOU. From grade schoolers to college grads, from short films to live shows, the sheer numbers of students and programming that have come through our studios is a testament to the service that cable access offers the community.

Sonia Nazario speaks to Madison Civics Club
Award-winning journalist and author of the best-selling book, Enrique's Journey, Sonia Nazario speaks to the Madison Civics Club about "the unforgettable odyssey of a Honduran boy who braves unimaginable hardship and peril to reach his mother in the United States."
Ms. Nazario was in town on October 6th, and volunteers with WYOU cameras were there to record exclusive footage of the event. Program produced by WYOU Executive Director, Charles Uphoff.

Jesse has been singing and playing guitar for more than 40 years and has won numerous awards including the Best Country Album of 2005 from the Madison Area Music Awards.

Wisconsin Legislators Doom Cable Access TV
Wisconsin legislators voted yesterday in favor of the controversial and deceptive Video Competition Act. Unless action is taken to change this disastrous move, WYOU and cable access throughout the state of Wisconsin will cease to exist because PEG funding will be no more. Are our leaders bought off by big corporates? You do the math.

Kathleen Falk in the WYOU Studio
Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk joined producer Steve Singer in the WYOU studio today for a taping of his show Shrink Rap!: Wisconsin . Steve, a practicing Madison-area psychiatrist, hosts a variety of guests with discussions ranging from the political to the psychological.
Shrink Rap airs on channel 4...Mondays 7:00 pm, Tuesdays at noon, and Fridays 2:00 pm.

WYOU Producer Vijay Dandamudi gets press in India
Vijay Dandamudi's short comedic films have been a huge success with the Telugu-speaking Youtube community. While shot mostly in his native language from India, the storylines have enough English sprinkled in to make the films quite enjoyable to a larger audience as well. His efforts have made such a splash that he was written up recently in The Hindu, India's Online National Newspaper. You can catch Vijay's work at full resolution and with English "prompts" on WYOU's Not Docs program.

WYOU Summer Youth Films
Each summer, WYOU provides video production experience for middle school students in the region. Groups of kids...along with WYOU staff...write, produce, rehearse, act, and shoot short films which, when it's all over, end up airing on the station. One of the most widely seen and most enjoyed of these short movies is The American Transport. See other WYOU youth films on our youtube channel.

3rd Annual WYOU Producer Awards a success!
